Bella Smith Tributes

The Story of the Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Bella was such a wonderful dog. I always loved when I came to visit. As soon as I walked through the door she would be so excited except, she did not like my wheeled suitcase. She would always shy away from my silly suitcase. I will allways remember when Bella hurt her paw when she had went to the park when I was visiting one time. Her Mom had to rush to work, so I was stuck taking Bella to the vet. At this particular time I was also sick. Bella and I returned home later and slept in her parents bed because that is where we both felt better. Bella I will miss you when I come to visit. I will never forget you. Love, Aunt Melissa

Not only were Amie and Matt fortunate to have Bella. But Bella was just as  fortunate to have Amie, Matt and Sydney. Bella could have ended up anywhere, but fell into the loving hands of the Smith family.

My heart goes out to the three of you at the physical loss of Bella . . . Bella the most beautiful . . . but her spirit will be with you always.  Bronte and I already miss her terribly also and hope that one day you will be ready to welcome another four legged wonder into your hearts and home.  That would be a fitting tribute to the love you shared with beautiful Bella.

I only met Bella a few times, but she left an impression on me the way that only truly great dogs can. I remember her being very expressive, just one of us humans, only with fur, she was not to be left out of the conversation! She and Matt could have a howling duet with the best of them. I'm so sorry, Amie, Matt, and Sydney, for this loss to your family. My thoughts are with all of you.

Dogs are family. You and Matt are the most loving owners a pet could ask for. Bella was wonderful -- a good match for two (now three) wonderful people. We will miss her. We love you guys so much. This site has made me cry in my office!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Bella was such a good dog. She was so friendly and energetic; always excited to see people. She was so lucky to have found you guys that day; she couldn't have ended up with a better family. Her life was cut short, but she's looking down on you now. She will be waiting for you guys to revisit her someday. Bella will always be remembered and missed. I love you guys. I'll just have you know that this made me cry my eyes out. This was such a beautiful thing to do to honor, Bella, your family.
