Breezy Jacobson

I rescued Breezy from the animal shelter on her first birthday.  When I picked her up, I was told that because she was in bad shape, that if she died in a week that I could come back to get my money or pick out another dog.  I took her home, got her medical care, and she remained with me for almost 12 years.  She was with me through some rough times but also some very good times.  She was my "baby girl" and my constant companion. As the years went by, we acquired a daddy and then 2 brothers.  She didn't receive as much attention as she once did but she was still my baby girl.  We traveled alot due to the military and her last assignment was to the Azores.  She really showed her old age the year she was there, developing arthritis but she still greeted me at the door when I came home and  waited patiently to be let out.  The last day of her life, she was really slow.  I thought it was just her arthritis acting up but now it seems like she was telling me it was time.  She kept getting out of her bed all night Sunday and I would go get her and bring her back.  I would hold her and then laid her in her bed. Monday morning, she didn't want to go out.  I left a message for the vet to call and then I left Breezy with the babysitter.  I was only gone 10 minutes before I received the phone call that she was gone.  The vet arrived after that and said that she had a heart attack.  The babysitter said that she wasn't in pain.  I pray that she wasn't and that she knew how very much I loved her and always will.
