Derek

Derek (AKA Mr. Dogg) was just an exceptional bright light. He was an AKC German Shepherd Dog, born in St Thomas, Virgin Islands. His Poppa was a Slovakian police dog, and Momma was a beautiful Shepherd from Seattle. We picked him up at 7 weeks near Christmas 2004 in St Thomas. He loved the Island, forever fascinated by the birds and planes flying all over the place near our house. We moved away in 2006 from the Virgin Islands, but he was stuck there as it was too hot to get on a plane for him. He was airlifted out on a small single engine aircraft, then jetted to Hollywood CA. He loved living in Hollywood CA with us, in a big compound once owned by actor Christopher Lloyd. We then moved on to Wilton Manors FL, where life was joyous. The week of June 15th was a tragic one for Mr. Dogg. He was travelling with us in our new RV that we got so he could come along, and developed a gut twist while on a particularly beautiful jog with me. He saw a herd of horses on that run, and I think the vision of those equines sent him to the moon. It was a joyous run, and one etched in my memory forever. We lost him at 8:45 am on 6-17-09--one of the saddest events of my 54 years on Earth. We will miss his big heart, big energy, and his love of his well travelled big blue ball.

Dennis,
I was so sorry to hear of your great loss. Mr Dogg was a loyal companion and he will always have a place in your heart. Please know that you provided him a wonderful home and excellent care. He was definitely one lucky pooch! My heart goes out to you.

I had the privilege of being Derek's pet sitter. He was a wonderful, happy boy and he could always make me laugh.
I will never forget him and his blue ball. He was very special to me and I will truely miss him.
Love, Jackie

I am sorry that you lost your beautiful Mr Dogg. How handsome and happy he looked sitting by the pool and what a glorious blessing his life was to have you in it. God Bless you and keep you in his care until you are strong enough to walk alone again. I have left a tribute for Mr Dogg - I hope you like it. I lost my cat Bandit (BamBam) McCarthy 6 months ago and the pain is still there but not as raw. I can now go on this website without sobbing - cry but not sob which shows I am getting stronger. I hope you have that strength and you will be together again .. In Rainbow's Bridge. Jen
