Fireside "Sammie" Alexander

Sammie was born in Mentor, Ohio on May 10, 1995 to Fireside Grand Alexander (Sire) and Fireside Gold Girl II (Dam).  We were very lucky to have found Sammie in her big litter, she was special and we knew it.  In June 1995 we to bring our little girl home to our new 12 acre hobby farm on Music St in Novelty, Ohio.  The house had a large pond, a golden sandy beach. There she got to meet her 12 week old German Shepard brother Stoli.  Sammie had the most beautiful face, golden yellow with big brown eyes and a cute black nose.

They both grew up at the farm running in the long green grass and swiming in their beautiful pond.  We took hikes in the forest to the watefall where we got to all swim together and spend some quality time.  We had many Bar B Q's at the farm where they both played with all the guests and their children.  After our last party on the 4th of July in 2002 we found out Stoli had cancer and we had to put him to rest that year.  Sammie and all of us were heart broken with the sudden loss.  Stoli was on 7 years old.

During her long life Sammie had 3 bouts of cancer but she was strong and survived them all.  Then during Christmas of 2002 we got another German Shepard named Benno.    We built our dream house in Scottsdale, AZ and moved both Sammie and Benno to a new home with a swiming pool.  They were so happy to get out of snow.  They both loved the warm days and hanging out at the pool.

Then Samie and Benno would travel with us all over the country in support of security operations for such events as the US Open Golf and Tennis.  They had the opportunity to travel to Pittsburgh, New York City, San Diego, Mexico and lastly Pebble Beach, CA.  Unknown to us at the time this would be some of Sammies last days spent with her brother Benno on the California Beaches.  They both loved the travel.

Upon our return in Feb 2009 Sammie had to go into the Vet for some minor surgery.  Things did not go so well and we had to put our beloved Angel, Princess, Po-ie  to sleep and it has borken our hearts since her passing on March 6th 2009.

Benno is very upset by not having her sister by his side everyday.  We were blessed to have such a loving, devoted and affectionate yellow lab as Sammie.  She will be missed by 100's of people who have come in contact with her over the years.   She was the best friend a family could ever have.  Sammie you will be missed and you are forever in our heart and soul.  We love you always and forever enjoy those walks my friend in Peace with no pain.

P.S.  We found Sammies Great Great Grandmother through her 4th Generation pedigree.  (Music St. Sally)  It is strange now to learn that she lived on the same street.

God saw you getting tirer and a cure was not meant to be.  So he put his arms around you and wispered "Come with me"  With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fading away.  Although we loved you dearly adn we could not make you stay.  A golden heart stopped breathing, running paws were laid to rest.  God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best!

How do you calm the turbulence of a lost loved one? Sammie was a gift to everyone, she will be forever missed but the pain will be replaced with the smiles of memories that can never be taken away. She is in heaven, looking down and watching our silly antics. What an incredible pup--she was better than most humans, loyal and loving expecting nothing in return. We miss you Miss Sam

We love our pets because they are somehow like ourselves,
only with more innocence
and trust.
Princess, may you be in a better place right now where you have all the time and freedom in the world to run around, simply chill or look out for pearl necklesses.
We love you and will miss you Sammie!

Sammie, you epitomized the meaning of "Man's Best Friend". I knew you your whole life, and was always amazed at your gentle, loving nature. You now get to run and play all day with Stoli and Boomer. May God bless, and we will all see you at the Rainbow Bridge!
