Honey Fritcher
We picked Honey from a litter of several puppies in Lake Havasu, Arizona. She was born October 4, 2003. They put pink polish on her so when we came back after she was weaned we would know which puppy we had picked. She was the cutest little thing! At 8 weeks of age we went back and picked her up. She had a new black and red checkered blanket for the ride home. She did so well on the car ride. Honey was a fast, intelligent learner. She knew hand signals and so many English words. She was rarely naughty, but did have one day of chewing., unfortunately, she ate the entire arm to our couch. She loved to go everywhere in the car. She was a snuggler and was just absolutely part of the family. She slept with us, watched television with us, went for walks and rides. We even took her to dog beach in San Diego. She had a great day and even got a hamburger for Hodad's Hamburger shack. One great memory was her sitting in my husband's lap in the recliner--all 120 pounds of her! We had a ramp built so she could get in the back of the truck, and she would sit behind the cab very carefully on her bed. She always had a soft bed (either ours or hers) as Bullmastiffs are prone to joint problems, and she did suffer a bit from ankle problems. She did have a lot of health issues, but they did not stop her from prancing all over our town with her dad. She went to the pet store, to his work, to my work, just about everywhere. She loved children and always drew a crowd wherever she went. Honey was the most loving, caring, intelligent dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She adored milk bones, and would use a "paw" signal when she wanted more. Last fall, 2010, we took her camping to Julian for a weekend and it turned very cold. If it was not for Honey suggling in the sleeping bag with us, I would have just frozen solid. She loved her "sister" Missy, a Chihuahua, and our little Dachshund. She tolerated Harley, the newest addition, and at 220 pounds he was a pretty terrible little brother to tolerate. She lived her live in dignity and absolute love until the day she died. Rest in peace and thank you for giving us so much love and letting us love and adore you for 7 years. You will never be forgotten. You touched so many and brought much joy to all who knew you.
