Khatru went peacefully from this place on the afternoon of March 28, 2008 surrounded by his immediate family.
Khatru was named after a song titled "Siberian Khatru", written by songwriter Jon Anderson, of our favorite band "YES".
Khatru was an active, energetic, and resilient dog, who provided constant companionship to us for nearly 15 years. He was truly a survivor. Despite Khatru's escape artistry, he always managed to find his way back home to us. In 1996, Khatru escaped from his grandparent's backyard and was later discovered running along Highway 99. This was only one of the many escapades of Khatru that made us appreciate the time he was with us all the more.
Khatru was adored by his human-sister Marina, and looked up to by his sister Chloe, a black lab. Khatru was idolized by his cousin, Tico, a 6-lb Chihuahua. Despite the obvious size difference, Khatru never took advantage and let the little Chi tag along behind him. When Marina was a young child, Khatru would tug her around by her ponytail and Marina would laugh and laugh.
Khatru is survived by his parents Kyle and Margaret; sisters, Marina and Chloe; grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Khatru was preceded in death by his cousin, Tico. Khatru will be sorely missed by all, especially his parents, who will cherish memories of the long walks, constant companionship, and greetings from Khatru upon return home. Khatru, we love you.
