	my sweet little kino... it rained today, like the angels were crying that i could not be with you today, your thirteenth birthday. a few flashes of lightning and the distant rumble of thunder reminded me of how you would run for cover...i remember coaxing you out of hiding, soothing you, telling you that you were safe. i'd shake my head and wonder how you could be such a scaredy cat, and right now, what i wouldn't do to bring that moment back. and as sad as the day was for me, at least i know that the rain feeds the hydrangea planted in your memory, and with each new green budding, i see you. i love you, kino ka. i always have and i always will. your mama
