Kitty
Kitty lived a long and charmed life. He roamed the sugercane fields and coastal forest adjacent to our house and in his prime he would bring home at least one big rat every day. He was a big cat who was frighten of no one. When our little Jack Russel would get into standoffs with dogs far bigger than himself, he would hightail it back to the house and return (absolute truth!) with the cat by his site. With the pair of them, the cat leading the charge no dog EVER dared to tangle with them. We found out about this when a neighbour called us laughing hysterically because she had just seen this fluffed up cat come bolting out of the house to protect his dog and an Alsation go fleeing.
Kitty was getting on in years (though he aged much better than his doggy friend who is very deaf now) he now spend much more time sleeping in the art studio amongst the canvas and the paintbrushes and less time catching pigeons and rats.
About a month ago we adopted a little stray kitten we called Skittle, and they would play together were good friends (the dog in his old age was a big jealous and snippy) but we all had settled into a rhythm.
Now unfortunately both of our lovely cats have passed away, but we will always cherish the memories they have given us.
