Lady Tributes

Life is about beginnings and of course endings. If it were not for the endings, we would not appreciate the beginnings and all of God's wonders in between. Our hearts are full as we think of you.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to
Rainbow Bridge
.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross
Rainbow Bridge
together....

My Dear Lady Bug,

I had to let you know that your little girl took her first big step this week in trying to fill your shoes.   You would have been so very proud to have been there to see how good she did for us.  It was as if you were right there beside her letting her know the right things to do, just like you would do them.  She was so calm and learned so quickly that we wondered what we had worried about.  You gave her her your sense of calm and inner peace and we know that she will carry us as proudly as you did for so many years.  I'm sorry we never got the chance to go on those rides together, but I believe that you are and will be with us every step of the way.

We all miss you so very much, but in our hearts know you are in a place of great peace and comfort and that God has the very best horse he could have by his side.

My Love Always,

Jackie

Jackie:

It is hard to put into words what it means to love a horse, especially one that has been in our lives for so many years - and I don't think that "non-horsey" friends ever really understand the connection... but if you have been blessed with a horse that greets you at the gate with a whinney... walks across the pasture to come stand by you in the rain... follows you around like a puppy dog... looks at you with those big brown eyes filled with complete trust... never offers to buck or do anything dangerous... brings you home safely no matter what you encounter... lets you cradle its head in your arms... and at the end of the day, as you walk across the pasture and back to the house, will stand ever so still and watch you as you go, letting out a gentle nicker as the screen door closes... then you have known the joy that I am talking about.

These horses that give their all & fill our lives with joy are such a treasure, remembered long after they are gone for so many things - their accomplishments, their training, their looks, their temperaments, their quirks... all the little things that became forever impressed upon your mind... the first day you saw them - and the last... and all the moments in between. I am in my mid-40's & it has been over 25 years since Nugget took her last ride.  She was that slightly lazy, semi-stubborn, dead-broke, absolutely bombproof kid-safe horse that ANYONE could ride!! I can tell you that you never forget them... they are a treasure that is hard to find! I still thank God that she was there during those teenage years when my personal life & my family was in shambles.  When I thought I couldn't make it one more day, I'd look out in the pasture & see her there...God gave me that horse! She always brought a smile to my face - and when you are 16 and your whole world is falling apart, a soft gentle muzzle on your hand & a mane to cry in is sometimes all you need.

All these years later, you realize just what an impact a "great kids horse" can have on you...the things you learned, the confidence you gained, the memories that were made... irreplaceable! But most importantly, it was, & still is, the way it made you feel! That is the part that will remain forever. And I can tell you.... in your minds eye, they will always be standing there, eagerly waiting to greet you at the gate, - you smile as they nuzzle you - and you climb aboard for one last ride. As you head for home, you turn to see them one last time & a soft gentle nicker faintly echos against the horizon...

Hello My Dear Lady,

I can't believe that 12 months ago we lost you on that hot August day.  It was hot yesterday and today just like last year.  God was surely looking out for you, bringing Bobby here at just the right time and giving you such strength and sense to go with him to the barn with your bad leg.  I am forever grateful to Bobby for taking such good care of my precious girl until we could get home.

I'm so thankful for all the special times we shared and promise to start back up with your little girl and help her become a great horse like her mother.   Give Grandma a nuzzle from me, as today is her anniversary of leaving us too.   I hope you have been giving her good rides and checking on our precious Rhudie & Lucky too.

None of you know, but then maybe you do... we added a new family member, Shiloh.  She loves Sadie and can't wait til we let her share the herding duties with your herd.  Maggie has stepped up, but doesn't pretend to try to fill your shoes...that would be impossible.  I miss you so very much and always will...you gave me the gift of a lifetime and I carry those memories with me always.

Thank You God for my Ladybug.

Jackie

Heavy are our hearts when we lose our beloved pets
Happy are our hearts for having them touch our lives forever. Take your love for Lady and share it with your other children so that her legacy lives on. You are in our prayers.

Even though Lady is not physically with you right now...your soul mate will ALWAYS be in your heart and your memories. We are so glad to have met her...and to have fed her an apple or two! Thinking of you all at the Ranch. Much love sent your way.

Somewhere, somewhere
In times own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some Paradise where horses go.
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.

Dear Jackie and Trish, Be consoled that, though the ache of your loss may ease with time, the blissful memories of your soul mate, sweet Lady, need never fade. So sorry for your loss, but so happy you loved her so!!!

She changed our lives! With one look at Lady, Jackie fell in love and realized a life long wish to have her own horse. When Lady joined the Allison/Denning family, the family grew in numbers (first Lady, then Summer, then Maggie, and then Lily!) and in love. There were trail rides with saddle bags filled with favorite beverages to be enjoyed along the river or by the lake. Lady inspired the achievement of another life long dream: Rocking Horse Farm! There is nothing more beautiful than having your horses graze in your front yard! There were children's rides where some kids had their very first thrill on a horse's back. There were laughter and lots of conversation (not that Jackie talks a lot or anything...); there were parties and picnics - all with Lady watching from the pasture, as the Lead Mare watched over her herd. Lady loved having friends visit the "ranch" because she would receive loving pats and pats of treats. Lady changed our lives - for the better - and we are forever thankful to her! We will always remember and love Lady!

My Sweet Lady,
Thank you for being more than I ever dreamed of. You taught me to ride, let me fly, always made me and others feel safe and through you I learned a whole new level of compassion and caring for all of our animal partners.
You were such a tough brave girl through all your troubles and pulled through pain more than most other horses would ever try to do. We can see so much of you and your good qualities in Lily and thank you for giving us such a wonderful gift.
I tried my best to give you the best home and most love a horse could ever have and I will miss so very much. I'm so glad that everydayI had your big beautiful neck to throw my arms around and hug and say "I Love My Lady Bug". I can see you everywhere you loved to be here at the Ranch and I know that you are just waiting for the time we are united and can fly together again as if we had wings.
I Love You Bug... Jackie

To Our Wonderful Friends and Family,
Trish and I would like to send a special thank you to all of our special friends and family for their overwhelming show of love and support over the past week. It has reminded us not only of how lucky we were to have had Lady in our lives and that so many people were also touched by her grace, but mostly of how so very blessed we are to have all of you, each in their own special way to enrich our lives. It means more to us than we can ever say.
Trish asked me what did it mean to me when I say that Lady was my animal soulmate. My reply was that right from the start she touched me in a place deep in my heart and soul and I felt such a stong connection that I knew I had loved her all my life, even though she didn't physically come into my life until 13 years ago. I will always feel blessed to have had that special bond. I hope that I was the person of her dreams as she became more than the horse I had ever dreamed of.
Lady was such a special gift to us but we feel that all of you are our precious gifts and thank God for blessing our lives with your gifts of love and friendship. The Rocking Horse Ranch was inspired by and will always be our Special Lady's Rocking Horse Ranch that is meant to always be shared with all of our many friends and family.
We Love You All,
Jackie & Trish

Lady is looking down on her Lily and is so very proud of her. She is inspiring Lily during her training and continues to send "love waves" to Jackie & Trish through her baby girl. I know Lily feels Lady's presence...as do both of you.
"YOU GO", Lily girl! :)
