Max was a beatifull King Charles Cavalier
I first set eyes on Max when he was an 8 week old bundle of white fur, with huge big sad brown eyes, his owner didnt take good care of him,by the time he was 5 he was obeastly over fed and given no exercise, he had never chased a ball, or ran thru the woods
At the age of 5 she decided she no longer wanted him, he was about to be given away to a stranger. This is where I intervened, even tho I had a dog of my own I took him home with me, knowing my mothers dog was very old with not long to live, I knew he would make a great companian for her, and would be given a very loving home.
He had a fantastic life with her, he was spoilt rotten, everywhere she went he went too,he even slept on her bed. He was King of the castle. My sisters often had him stay with them for little holidays if my mother went away, he loved the times with Bernadette and Derek and their dogs Hope, Ginger, Cassie and Mollie.
Sadly my mother became ill and died, there was no hesitation for Max coming back to me, the next 18 months were the happiest of my life ,with my dog Rupert our new pup Rocco and Max,I treasure every moment I had with them.
Then 5 months ago the light of my life went out when Rupert died. 3 weeks later my husband and I had booked a long trip abroad, and as Maxs health was not good another of my sisters grabbed at the chance to look after max for a while.
I was so sad leaving him, I could hardly bare to leave him, but I knew he was about to stay with my sisters family who loved him as much as I did. He had a fabulous time with them they showered him with love and affection, and even tho they had their own dog Benji he still made sure he was number 1. I kept in close contact and kept telling them to give him a big kiss and hug from me,
He became ill on Christmas Day he had a very, very bad heart and was finding breathing difficult, my sister tried everything to keep him going, every day was spent at the vets, but sadly in the early hours of New Years Day his little heart could take no more, with my sister and her husband holding and compforting him with the help of the vet, his little spirit left his body, his angel wings carried him to Rainbow Bridge were a little party of friends Rupert,Hope,Ginger 2 Cassies, Poppy, poor little Mollie and the lovely Jasper were waiting for him to take him straight to my mother, the one he loved most.
We will all miss you forever Max you were in a class of your own. It was all our pleasure that you came into our lives
Please be at Rainbow Bridge with Rupert waiting for me, when my time comes
love you and miss you
