Prancer had a rough start to life. After being rescued by Pat she became the angel in our lives. She was truly the happeist little dog I have ever met. She always brought a smile to my face.
She never met a stranger and fell in love with any man she met. Her happy constitution was so very contagious.
She loved her Vet., Dr Reese Jackman, so very much. We were all very blessed to have him in our life.
She was a true traveling pup. She went all over the Southwest, NV, ID, NM working on jobs with us. Once when we were up in Nevada, we needed to make a quite trip back to AZ. We left her and her sister, Teluca, at my mom's house for the weekend. It was just before Halloween and my mother had baked cookies for the children in the neighborhood. Well, Mom had to go some where and left the cookies all bagged up on the counter. On returning, she found Prancer resting peacefully on the living room floor. Then she entered the kitchen to find that Prancer had gotten up on the counter and had put a small hole, just big enough to steal one cookie, from each bag of goodies. Shortly there after she had to leave again and that's when Prancer decided to play with one of her cats. The cat didn't want to play!!! When Mom came home, she found Prancer resting peacefully on the living room floor. However, she couldn't find her cat. After much searching she was found hiding in the bedroom terribly traumitzed. Since that trip, all we had to do was say "Cookies and Cats" and Prancer would come running.
She was a really smart girl. On one of our work sites up in the mountains of AZ, it was a very cold and snowy winter. We loved to hike in the snow, so off we went. We found an old Cat Dozer sitting in a field covered in snow. Pat started throwing snow balls at me. Then he dicided to throw some at Prancer. Prancer didn't like it too much so she went to hide. But Pat kept finding her and throwing them at her. They started going aound and around the dozer. After a bit, Pat couldn't find her. So I went to look for her. There she was, right behind Pat slowly following his footsteps. It was so funny. I felt like I was watching a cartoon. She went all the way around the dozer following him.
She was a true shade hound. Living in AZ during the summer is quite a challenge. She always found a cool spot to lay her body down. We have many shallow depressions under trailers and turcks where she would dig down to the cool ground and sleep.
She lived a long and very happy life. No complaints or fussing. She will be missed by all who were graced by her smiling face and happy demeanor. RIP dear one. We miss you.
