Schatzi

Schatzi came into my life when she was three months old and she stayed by my side for over 16 years.  I have long recognized her as a gift from heaven.  She brought so much into my life at every stage of life.  She was my baby, sister, mother, grandmother all in one . . . and, of course, my forever loyal and trusting friend and companion.  Schatzi enriched my life.  Caring for her all these years has been my great privilege.  She will forever be my sweet girl . . . my Schatzi-watzi.

Schatzi, run, run, run . . . and play . . . and run some more until you run into my open arms again!

  WE HAVE A SECRETspacer

We have a secret, you and I,
That no one else shall know,
For who, but I can see you lie,
Each night, in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
Before we go to bed,
And feel the living warmth of you
And touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths,
And see, ahead of me,
Your small form racing with the wind,
So young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
In every brook I pass...
And, when I call, no one but I
Can see the bending grass.

I am really sorry for your lost of Schatzi. I looked at her picture and she looked just like Zoe. You will never forget her. I always think about Zoe. If fact just thinking about your Schatzi and Zoe makes my eyes water. I love you Rosemary. Please take care of yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear that Schatzi has passed away. I know that she was your baby and how much you are going to miss her. Even though I did not know Schatzi very well, I will miss her too because I know how special she was.

Rosemary, it is so true Schatzi was a gift from Heaven. She was very loving and ALWAYS in a good mood with a welcome greeting for me whenever I visited. She took all of her physical struggles and limitations in stride and made the best She is a good example for the rest of us. Her gentle spirit will remain in your life forever. I am thinking of you during this very sad and difficult time.

All of us were crying before school today when we found out the news of "our" girl's passing... Over the years, we enjoyed pet sitting Schatzi - simply because her spirit was stronger than any doxie we have ever met! So patient she was, as we fumbled to put her in her "Wheels" --- (more patient than any human)... We have such fond memories... "Get your wheels, Schatzi" and oh, the Bug Hunts she would take the children on... "Another dried worm, Schatzi!" and away we would go, following the hopping angel with the perserverance of a Tiger and the heart of a Lion. "Time to go Home, now, girl."
