When I first saw Stimpy, it was outside of a 7-11 with some friends of mine. She had jumped into the backseat of their car when they were not looking. It would not be the first time she surprised us.
Stimpy was a tiny black kitten only about 8 weeks old. My daughter Lauren (who was 3 yrs. old) was thrilled to have a little black kitty with beautiful green eyes. They got along famously being that they were both "toddlers".
Stimpy grew into a smart, clever cat with a sphynx-like appearance. With her long, angora hair and emerald green eyes, she was exceptionally beautiful.
As she grew up, she loved to hide in the silverware drawer. She would somehow form a maze from the cabinets.
She loved to make high pitch sounds outside to the birds flying overhead.
With one swap of her paw, she would make a pesky fly her afternoon snack.
I remember at dusk she would sit outside near the rabbits. She would remain so still I would have sworn she was a statue.
As time went on, Lauren was in high school and Stimpy was in her senior years.
I noticed she grew a little more weak and tired but she was always ready to say hello and remind you of her next meal.
Near the end of her life, her eyes had the same helplessness that she had when she was a kitten.
We did not want her to go, but God has special plans for her.
I will always feel her in my heart and will miss her everyday.
