Tigger Smith

Tigger and his sister Waifer were adopted by Laura from the Long Island animal shelter as kittens in 1993. Tigger lived in a studio apartment in New York City (W. 57th St.) for several years before moving to the suburbs of Atlantic Highlands and Middletown, New Jersey. It was in Jersey that Tigger discovered his love of birds. He would watch the bird feeder for hours and later discovered a window seat with a great view of the gutter where the birds would line up waiting for their turn at the feeder. He also discovered stairs which were a bit of a challenge when he saw them for the first time. In 2000, Tigger moved to Seattle. He enjoyed his flight in first class and particularly enjoyed his stay at the Four Seasons in Seattle (yes this was a corporate move...). He loved the big window sills at the Four Seasons with plenty of room to lounge on. He also loved his house in the Highlands, particularly the back patio, where he would occasionally bravely venture out, until running back inside. He once saw a raccoon through the back patio glass. We couldn't figure out why he was hissing and growling until we saw the raccoon! Tigger loved ice cream, turkey, chicken, steak and rye crackers. And he loved to snuggle on the recliner chair each evening. He was the greatest cat ever and he is deeply loved and greatly missed.

Dear Tigger,
I hope you are having a good time up in heaven. Someday, I will join you up there. I hope Waifer is also doing well up there too. Will you check on her for me?
Love,
Jordan

Dear Tigger,
I miss your purring and I miss you cuddling up with me. Remember the days when we would just sit together in Mom's chair, and we would have a great time as I petted you and you purred. Please get well.
Love,
Logan

Dear Tigger,
I miss you so much. When I open the door, you aren't there waiting to greet me. And, when I walk down the stairs, I don't trip over you. The chair is so empty without you on it with me. Thank you for a wonderful 16 years of your incredible loyalty and affection. Please don't fight with Waifer up in heaven. I will always miss and love you!
Love,
Laura

Tigger
I will miss you especially when Laura was away and we sat around watching football together. I will certainly miss your begging and taking up 2/3s of the bed. I know I was there to serve you and it was truly a pleasure. Thank you for sharing your life with me.

Tigger,
While our visits were brief - I remember the rhythmic wagging of your tail as we enjoyed bbq and laughter. Thanks for giving my friends such joy. May this candle light your way to see them and give them comfort.

Dear Tigger-
The house on Highlands won't be the same without you. I will miss the sudden paw on my back at the refridgerator in the morning (more stimulating than coffee!) and we're all sure to gain weight with no one to remind us that the bottom of the ice cream bowl is yours. I know that there will be lots of ham in heaven. Be well!

Dear Tigger,
I will miss you whenever I will come back to Newcastle. You were alwyas part of the absolutely wonderful Smith family. It won't be the same without you. I always liked you lying on my bed and watching the SuperSonics with me :=) You were such a trustful kitty. I hope you'll find the best catfood ever on every cloud and it's like paradise for you. Take care of Jordan, Logan, Laura and Jim from above, will you?

I was Tigger's doctor. I don't think I was his favorite person. But he was one of my favorite patients. He was a trooper to the end. I will miss seeing him.

I was Tigger's veterinarian. Although, I don't think I was one of his favorite people, he was one of my favorite patients.

Tigger, I will really miss seeing you.

Hi Tigger, hope you have made friends with Bandit (Bam Bam) my cat and Edgar's cat Tigger and Kathy's dog, Bear Bear. They would all have been there waiting for your arrival and being all loving friendly souls, I know would make you feel loved and welcome in their new little family. God bless your family you left behind and know that one day in the future, we will all see our loved ones again in Rainbow's Bridge.
